The BLU Nile Restaurant & Lounge welcomes you!  You are free to EAT, PLAY & EXPERENCE THE WIN!! The brainchild of two local entrepreneurs, that believe that everyone deserves to Win.

 

The story starts as it does for many, local boys (Ski Johnson & Malcolm D. Alexander) maneuvering through the trials and tribulations of growing up in the city of Washington DC.  Go Go Music, Rock Creek Park and Georgetown lead them to Duke Ellington High School of the Performing Arts. It was there that they realized that all dreams could come true if you worked hard, smart and surrounded yourself with good people having a good time. The BLU Nile experience started when one of the boys (now a successful man), a musician (Ski) walked into an Ethiopian Restaurant and was asked to hang out and play the sax that evening. A former hairdresser (Meron) following a dream found herself as a proprietor of this establishment called the Abol. Although in a new venture with no experience she prevailed and found a successful businessman (Elvis) that believed in her dream to invest and help continue the quest. It was the good food, the desire to win and the openness to learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses that created new experiences, a mastermind of ideas and a collaboration that united the three very different cultures together. The last missing link was the good friend and Venture  Capitalist (Malcolm). He took all the ideas, dreams, goals, desires and a team of great people from Chefs, to Designers to Bartenders and wrapped them all up in a business of Unity.

Out flowed the Blu Nile Restaurant & Lounge.

 

The Blue Nile is a famous Landmark Waterfall in Ethiopia that represents a mirage of experiences. Beauty, culture, unity, strength all with twists and turns that you cannot predict. The Blu Nile Restaurant where you are seated right now is the same way. Although you are here for a good time and a drink, enjoy the various dishes of the Restaurant and allow yourself to emerge in our Experience. There is no telling where you might end up.  EVERYTHING HAPPENS @ THE BLU!
